Spring forward! This is a common term used to describe the time of year when we move our clocks forward and hour to increase the amount of time we have of daylight hours. This was originally done to assist the farmers when we were primarily an agricultural nation. It increased the time in the day when farmers had daylight to work in the fields. We have made huge progress in proficiency in the area of farming and agriculture and have learned how to grown and produce with more effectiveness. We have done the same in education through Professional Development. We take professional development seriously at Hoover High School. You will see that there are several opportunities coming up over the next 2 weeks for teachers to participate.

We have everything from a round table discussion on Dealing with iPad Distractibility to a grading series on Redos, Retakes, and Do-Overs. Our Tech PLC meeting focus continues to be Google in Education. This month's topic is Google Hangouts. Teachers can CLEP this PD session by completing the online version, they can attend the face-to-face session, and they can rewind their learning afterwards as the session will be recorded. We are excited about these administrator and teacher led sessions. We believe that you can have all the resources in the world, but if you do not know how to use them- they are useless.

Have a great week!
